Southwest Colorado eSchool

Southwest Colorado eSchool offers an online public charter school that serves students in grades six through twelve. It is located in Durango County, La Plata County and San Juan. The Colorado Department of Education authorized the school to continue operation and provided funding. Currently, it has 3.7 full-time teachers. The state-mandated PPR, or pupil performance rate, determines how much funding the school will receive for each student. Students enrolled in eSchool will require a computer, headphones, microphones, an internet connection, and internet access to complete their coursework. Students will receive a highschool diploma after they have completed the curriculum.


The Southwest Colorado eSchool was founded to offer students equitable learning opportunities. Students who cannot attend traditional brick-and mortar schools because of extenuating circumstances can use the eSchool. The school's history has seen it grow and diversify over time, while still providing services for the region’s most marginalized students.

Colorado Virtual Academy

The Colorado Virtual Academy has a middle-school curriculum that helps students to meet Colorado's academic standards. The program is based the National School Lunch Program. The poverty rate for this program is less than 6%. Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals if their household income does not exceed 40C/day.

It was ranked in the top half of Colorado schools for overall performance due to its test scores. It ranked in both the bottom and top half for math proficiency as well as the top half for literacy. Colorado's percentage of students with state proficiency in math or reading is 23% and 45%, respectively.

My Tech High

My Tech High Colorado provides a blended learning experience for students in grades 7-12. This program allows students both to attend classes on-site as well online.
